Sourcing my materials
As a young jewelry designer, my process for sourcing materials involves a mix of upcycling and purchasing new items. I often visit thrift stores to find old jewelry pieces, which I repurpose into new designs. These materials sometimes come with unknown compositions, but that adds to the charm of the finished pieces.
I also acquire crystals in various forms – raw, tumbled, and natural. I select them based on their appearance and energy, incorporating them into my designs. I am also not an expert on IDing crystals or telling if they are real, when I do ge\ them from unreliable sources. However I do track the names label them in each listing.
Beads, in all their varieties, are essential components of my creations. I spend time sorting through bead stores to find the right shapes, colors, and textures for each design.
For functional elements like clasps and wires, I rely on specialized jewelry stores to ensure the quality meets my standards.
In my jewelry listings, I clearly label items as “upcycled” when appropriate, as I may not have detailed information about the materials' composition. Regardless of their origin, each piece is crafted with care and creativity, ready to become a unique addition to your collection.
